They are born to be. In fact it's their culture effects. Actually if you ask a norwegian this question, he/she can't even answer you. They would probably confuse: are we? We think they're impolite because we are from a different community/country; each country, races has their own culture,life style. Somehow no "please" in Norwegian, they dont say "thank you" doesnt mean they are rude.

My fiance (A dane) says the same thing. I'm not sure. I'm sure a lot of them are perfectly nice, just like the same can be said for every culture. Maybe it's the viking roots? My fiance can be pretty rude at times too, when he wants to be.
