I would not change from the A/D at this time. It is not a chunk or sliced food. Please discuss it with the vet before you change what you are feeding. There's a lot of panic out there right now. Friskies is made by Purina, and there's no Purina cat foods on the list right now, just one variety of Mighty Dog, but you said in your last question your cat is hyperthyroid. A diet change could put a strain on his system.
Go to www.menufoods.com/recall for the current list of affected foods.

No!!
Prescription diets are just that...prescriptions for a particular health issue your pet has. Your vet has recommended A/D specifically for your cat. Friskies is an off-the-shelf generic food for any cat. Stick with your vet's advice!!!
Science Diet IS a good food and used by veterinarians for their own pets. I'm having a hard time believing people are recommending grocery store pet foods over this brand!

OMG! No! I'm not sure if Friskies is made by Menu Foods, but Friskies is crap anyway! They use a lot of preservatives that can cause cancer in pets! A lot of their formulas also use by-product! Do you know what that is? Crap! It's all the leftovers that got slopped on the floor included beaks, feet and blood! Nasty! Please do your research! There are much better foods out there! And no, Science Diet, Iams, and Eukanuba are not good foods! Just do a holistic pet food search on yahoo or something, and you'll come up will all kinds of great foods-that have never been a part of any recall!

Neither are very good foods, i use wellness on both my cats and dogs, and if you cant find that brand read the label on the back with the list of ingredients before you by it and check for by-products because these products are horrible for your cat, by products consist of the left over meats and anything from the inside's, the feet, the brain, things like that and they ARE NOT good for your animals.

Um, personally, I would avoid BOTH of these foods, though not just because of the recall scare. They're crummy quality foods. I would recommend Precise Plus, or, as second choices, Wellness or Felidae. All are very high-quality and contain lots of beneficial ingredients. (Including some, like Yucca and mint that make cleaning the litterbox a little less... unpleasant)
If you have a Kroger chain of supermarket where you live, they carry Precise Plus. Some small pet stores carry the other two.

Contact your Vet that gave you the prescription for your cat and ask him or her what you should do and how your cat is behaving.
