I'm not pregnant.

I had a cold the past week, and I have been really dizzy before and after my cold. I'm now over my cold (for a couple days now_ and i'm still super super dizzy.

I don't know why. Maybe because I have not had an appetite?? But I have eaten and I drink a lot of water and I'm still light headed and very, very dizzy. I keep wanting to sleep and sitting up makes my head hurt worse...

is there anything I can do????

You must go see a doctor. Any advice that can be given here does not replace that of a medical doctor

you should make an appt within 24-48 hours to see your dr or go to the nearest urgent care

excess fluids leftover from the cold can make it's way into your ear canals which causes changes in inner-ear pressure. these changes cause dizziness. if the fluid has become in contact with bacteria-it could lead to an ear infection for which you'll need antibiotics.

the other cause could be severe dehydration. eventhough you are eating and drinking, while you were sick you might not have taken in enough fluids and now whatever you are drinking, your body is using soley to restore itself and not using it to help maintain itself-which could cause dizziness.

try drinking pedialyte. this is designed for children but works great on anyone who is dehydrated. it contains the electrolytes your body needs to function. any grocery or drugstore should have it. you can also drink gatorade and of course water.

use a warm mist humidifier in your room while sleeping. this will help break up congestion and can aide in releasing the fluid and pressure inside your ears.

do not go w/out seeking medical attention. it's a big issue that you only feel like sleeping and cannot move your head much (this is considered lethargy and can be very serious)

colds and blocked up sinuse can lead to ear infection which cause dizziness.
Also just a blocked nose can make me feel pretty dizzy
But see a doc as ear infections need immediate treatment.
In the mean time....fill a large bowl/hand basin with hot water, add a little vicks vapor rub/any menthol chest rub/eucalyptus oil in the water put your head above the water and drape a large towel over your head and the bowl, so that you can inhale the steam. Even plain steam with nothing added will help. This should help clear up your head.
But do see a doctor...SOON. and drink some kind a electrolyte replenishing sports (not energy) drink like powerade or gatorade to rehydrate your body
Good luck and I hope you feel well soon.

If you have a cold, you might have an ear infection that can affect the inner ear tube, which effects balance. Vertigo, the constant dizziness can be a sign of that. I would advise you go to a doctor and have your sinuses checked. If you have a sinus infection, inflammation can make you dizzy.

You need to see a Dr. for this. You could have low blood pressure,a ear infection, or sinus infection, All of these and be dangerous problems, if not taken care of properly., You would hate to pass out while driving and end up hurting yourself or someone else. Se a Dr. right away.

you might have a sinus infectiion from your cold. one way to check is to bend your head forward,it this causes pain then bingo you have an infection. or you might just be taking a little longer than usual to heal, good luck
