You sure have the wrong idea on being an artist. Some have natural talents and others need education. Of course, the more education the better. However, most artist begin one project and end up with a complete different painting/project. You can not be a 9 to 5 artist. There are months and months that you may go without being able to draw a straight line because it is not in you. Other times, you can make three paintings/projects in a day. Have you not heard of the "Starving Artist?" You truly need to research and talk to college instructors/professors to give you this information. I was never encouraged to do artwork until the age of 50. A friend introduced me to clay. Three years later, I put artwork in an art show and sold most of my projects. This is my third year and the artwork gets better and better. I only get what I put into it financially. Six projects are torn apart and used for other pieces of work and with luck, the 7th piece is good enough for my satisfaction and completely different than my original plans. Ya never know.
