She's driving my family and I nuts. Can't kick her out. She drinks a lot and acts stupid and says hurtful things to people when under the influence. She stinks, doesn't shower but once or twice a week and worst of all she can't sing or dance, it's horrifying. I know I'm being cruel but I need a way so I'm not so damn irritated all the time. Also, she sneaks and eats our food, and she's constantly accusing us of taking her food and taking stuff out of her room when her room is locked. Also when I'm having a conversation with someone she put's in her two cents. She tries to make everything about her. She's constantly complaining about her poor life story and expects sympathy. It's driving us crazy, and any suggestions to help me deal with an annoying room mate would be helpful.

That is the problem when you got the wrong kind of room-mate in the house. What I can share with you is perhaps she has some problems or troubles lately that she could not cope? Try to talk to her when she is not doing anything and maybe chat her up to find out what is the problem. Remind her that the house is shared by the two of you and you need some peace and quiet sometimes. Say you are doing some work and will be kept busy for a while.

Why can't you get rid of her? Is it you CAN'T or you just don't want to hurt her feelings by kicking her out? If it's the latter, I say make her leave anyway, but first confront her. If you've already talked to her and she still didn't listen, then at least you tried. There are a lot of things you need to think about here, these just being a couple.
I wish I could help more. Take care.

Clearly, she is acting this way out of anger and denial over her substance abuse. You must speak to her friends and family about doing an intervention. Take her to an AA or NA meeting--it may help. So might a visit to the psychiatric nurse at the emergency ward, as often substance abusers have underlying emotional issues and/or mental illnesses. Treating the addiction is difficult. Some people may have it in their genes, or else, were exposed in the womb. I suggest talking with her and giving her a second chance. I would hate to see another vulnerable young person in the streets.

Can't put her out??? Why???You are miserable and almost a prisoner to this controlling, silly, immature drunk--stop all the pity and drama--put her stuff outside--say goodbye and change the locks. She will find another place---don't worry. Millions of pain in the butt drunks and drug addicts are bounced out everyday, all over the world---this nut will be OK. Don't fall for the crying and begging--its a drunken act. If you don't do thid--don't ask for anymore help--what do you think you can do about this??Stay or go is your only options. Call a cop to standby--they will come for the happy eviction--it is their job--we do it all day long at work.

it really depends on why you can not kick her out. if you are on a lease go to the office and explain your delimma. they may have another situation in the complex where you could change apartments and get a different roommate. i would be firm with her. "nobody is eatting your food if anything you eat my food. your bedroom door has a lock the only one with a key is you so go talk to yourself." she probably has some mental disorder and needs some councelling.

Yeah, why can't you kick her out? That really sucks.. tell her to get over herself and to f*ck off. :) Jk, i think that would make things worse. I don't know what to tell you other than to kick her out which you can't do. I think all you can do is ignore her the best you can and hopefully she'll stop talking to you. ??
