I'm 24 and have chronic left pelvic pain for about three or four years now. I've had two gynos during this time( I moved across country) and they've both told me the same thing-that my pain is caused my lack of consistent periods. It's true, my cycle is wacky and I can go from two-six months without one, but the pain still persists the months that I do have a period. I've told them about family history of endometrious(my mom had a complete hysterectomy when I was in sixth grade) and have blood tests taken but nothing seems to come up. Should I just shut up and take the doctors word for it or are there other test that I can request? I've looked up both PCOS and endometrious but not sure how they test for them. I'm at my whits end about this, the pain just seems to get worse.

Since there are now over 5 million women with endo I would pursue it further. Also, it does sound like you might have a chance of having pcos. get checked and be agressive with your treatment options

in endometriosis you have fleshy stuff in your menstrual blood, your ovaries really have little to do with that. the pain is going to be there as long as you have the ovary, get it removed. you dont need both of them anymore than a man needs two testicles.
