I just wanted to correct someones comment that saying Treysante JohnsTon is too much... and yes it is with the T in Johnson. But our last name is Johnson, not Johnston.

I like it a lot, the whole name. It has a really good ring to it. I have a friend who's brother is named Tray, though not Treysante. I like yours better, honestly. Some good variation nickname-wise too.

No I don't like it, I think it is too much added with Johnston a bit of a tongue twister and pretty difficult for a little boy to say! Try it out on other 5 year olds. Trey Johnston sounds good though, pretty cool name!

My husband was African-American too, and my daughter is named . . . Elizabeth.

Naming your kids is the only way you as a parent get to communicate with everyone he meets. Do you want that communication to be of help to him, or a burden?

Kids need names that don't require a half hour of explanation and respelling in the culture they grow up in. It's especially bad if after all that, there is no meaning anyway and it's just a vanity pitch by the parents.

In Western culture, boys' names are considered strong and beautiful if they are one or two syllables; girls' names are the opposite, being better at 3 or 4 syllables.

Treysante may be too much. Maybe name him Trey and use the 'Sante' as part of a middle name to try to keep it a little simpler.

How about Trevor?
It gives the child their own identity separate from the father and yet keeps it in line with the father's name.

Trey sounds a lot like a nickname for a boy; but is it a good name for a man?

Trey Sante Johnson.

It is not too much just give him a short middle name or none at all. Trey for short is cute.

I like it, sounds nice, rolls easily off the tongue, and easy to say from the spelling. One thing, might sound just a little feminine with the ay sound at the end. Have you thought about saying it Tray- sain, french style?

I'm not too fond of the name, what about: Travon, Terrell, Trey, Tre, Tevon, Tevin, Troy, Trent, Travonne

No, not at all..when giving a child a longer name like that, it is most likely that the child will be called a nickname for short, in your case..Trey. Not too much at all!!

Trey sounds great, however, the sante part seems a little feminine.
