I have also started feeding him one in the morning. Isn't 2 a day not good for him - he is about 8/9 weeks and just bigger then 50 pence coin. Swims fine. And i try to give him one pellet first then the second this way he eats them. He bites and wastes the third one. Is that good enough for him. And feeding once a day will that not be too less.

First of all, what are the water temps? Cold water inhibits feeding. You might want to check the rest of the cares as well and see if there are other concerns that might be affecting appetite.

The typical serving would be about the size of its head- if it is small and the pellets are big, then a few pellets might be all it needs. We only feed babies once a day (older turtles get fed every other day.)

You staring at it could easily be stressing it enough to keep it from eating as well. Give it a little privacy as it eats.

How long have you had this turtle? It can take them a while (sometimes a week) to adjust to a new home. But if it's been longer than that, then I worry that he may either be sick, or your temperatures may not be right. A stressed turtle will also refuse food (is the tank in a high-traffic area?).

He'll need a lot more variety than what you've been offering. Please avoid giving bits of meat as they can contaminate the water and make him sick, and they are not very nutritious. Better options are whole animal foods like fish and the bugs that you've been trying.
