Asking if anything has a reason and why the universe exists are two different questions, my friend. You said you are religious. Yet you do not seem to know why God created the universe. I ain't religious but i used to read the bible and know it's version of why God created the universe and life. Because such a version exists. You just won't find it on the first chapter of Genesis. And then you came to the "Why" part. You ask questions, give answers/reasons and end up with "Laws have no reason". While infact you proved there are more answers/reasons to things than meets the eye. What you should be wondering, i think, is that there doesn't seem to be ends for the question and the reasons. Or maybe why you are so frustrated right now and what to do about it. There would be answers/reasons for that one ;).

The Laws of the Universe are the language of GOD.
Apply it to your spiritual life and you will understand a lot.
The laws in nature apply exactly in the same way to our inner life.
If you sow love you will reap love. If you hang on "heavy" thoughts you will feel this in your soul. Same does always attract same and we will find our way back to paradise through the law of gravity. These laws are interwoven in every thing, in nature and in our own spiritual life.
What you sow you will reap. So the law of reciprocal action.
The law of attraction of the homogenous species.
The law of development.
The law of gravity.
The law that only in giving we can receive again.
In these laws we can find wisdom and guidance for our own life.
It is amazing, how wise every thing is looked after.
Why can`t people see or feel that? I lack understanding for that fact.
A mistake many make is that they only judge according to what they can see. We lived already many lifes and it is a great mistake to believe that at birth an absolutely new life begins, that a child is thus "innocent", and that all happening can be accounted for in only the short life on earth. If this were true then the existing Justice would naturally require the combined causes, effects and reactions to occur during the span of ones earth-life.
Through these laws we are able to shape our destiny. With the firm beginning of the good volition, a limit is immediately set for the point where the chain of evil reactions must come to an end.

The why questions you keep asking has answers. If I were a scientist or genius I could explain it, but I don't think your looking for those kind of answers, we, I believe, is the answer. We exist for Gods love and pleasure. We exist so all that other stuff has to exist to sustain us. What a great and wondrous thing to know that everything is here for us. The sun is hot and provides warmth, and beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The clouds bring rain but also a chance to lay back and watch as they roll by. The moon and stars are balancing blocks of gravity and candy for the eyes at night. The reason? We are loved.

Why is the Sun hot? Because nuclear reactions inside produce heat. Why? Because energy is released. Why? Because matter is converted to energy. Why? Because of gravity. Why? Because of the laws of the universe. Why? Laws have no reason... that we can deduce at this time.
Do some reading on M-Theory, and String Theory.
May I suggest http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory and pay particular attention to the section entitled "Big Bang". It is short, but may answer you question.

this is a reliable question. the element is you will in no way understand reality until you return to the element of accepting that there is a potential/stress better than the human strategies. Intellectualism, strategies technological information, call it something, is all problem to reality and the certainty i'm speaking approximately right here is that God is reality, He created all issues on earth, under the Earth and interior the Heavens. for this reason something got here across is all made by using Him and is problem to Him. Even after learning the thought of relativity, Einstein regarded that there became a much better cosmic stress interior the universe. hit upon the Bible, please examine the books of John financial disaster a million, 2 Corithians 4:4 and 13:8 you wil understand the certainty and the certainty shall set you unfastened. Be blessed

This is just my personal belief, and I hope that I can explian it well enough.
The bible say that god is love, not god is like love, not god likes love but that he is strait and pure love.
Love is by its very nature a creative force in the human soul, it inspires us to do good and better. It inspires us to create and maintain, to build and not distroy.
The bible says that man was created in gods image. God is a non-coporeal being (haveing no substance) and therefore if we are coporeal it cannot be our physical image that we imitate god. It must be our 'soul', our emotional being that is in the image of god.
If love in us is a creative force, if we imitate god and if god is love then there is no other possibility than for god to have created the universe and all things in it.
And if yhe universe was created because god is love then the universe as a whole has a reason.
I hope that explain my views well enough for you.
Hope this helps.

Each and everything in this world and the universe has a reason behind it. You may not agree to the religious beliefs, but what difference does it make whether you beleive in it or not? Even if you do not agree to it - There is a reason to it!!!???? Isn't it???
Why are not seeing any reason for the things happening. I think there is some reason for your non-belief as well and if there is some reason for it - Then you must accept that there is some reason to everything.
God is great and he created the universe for some reasons which are even unknown to me, but I don't think it is reasonless.

Can we state that there is no reason to most of the things?
Can we say things just happen by chance? I don't think we are capable enough to state such things because there so many things we don't know yet. We are not yet in a state to decide where we are headed. We must expose ourselves to the secrets of mother nature, then we can at least realize what is happening. Known is a drop, unknown is an ocean.

God did it as an experiment because he/she knew that part of the result would be to create you, for which he/she finds fascinating. Perhaps God is powerful, but is looking for the answer to a question, and wonders whether anyone will discover it and arrive at the same answer. Interestingly, if you discover his/her question and answer it correctly, God will provide 10 pts to your Yahoo account.
Seriously though, there is probably a reason, and I suspect that some of the time, if you are smart enough, God would enjoy it if you thought about the question of why, and helped just a little bit, to find the answer.
