Fast Foods Should be Banned?

I'm having a debate tomorrow. So can anyone give me points on why fast food should be banned (I know fast food should not be banned, I disagree with it too, but this is for my debate)? Thanks in advance.

It should not be banned but since it's for the sake of argument, well, let's just put it this way....
1) With fastfoods around, there are more disposable garbage that are so hazardous not only to the people but to the environment as a whole.
2) With this kind of food, nobody is so sure as to how clean the food was processed.
3) The reason why people are getting fatter and fatter, that's due to the MSG (monosodium glutamate) which are hazardous to our health.
4) The parents are forced to become timid in preparing for their daily meals.
5) Mothers who are expected to have knowledge of preparing food for the family no longer make efforts in cooking.
6) They have the tendency to run out of cash coz they could no longer manage to budget their income.
I think these are enough reasons for banning fastfoods as starting points.

I used to work at McDonalds when I was in high school....the owner of our store was a cheap bastard. The beef and chicken in the tray's in the heating element are supposed to be thrown away if not used within 30 minutes....but if we were slow he wanted to save money and we had to sell food that was HOURS old. The crispy chicken and chicken selects were so old and disgusting they were rock hard. When we made the beef/hamburgers we were not allowed to drain the grease off of them. Then they sat in the heating element for a while just soaking in their fat and grease. If you picked up a hamburger at McDonalds and wrung it outu like a washcloth you would get a LOT of grease out of it. I always did that before I ate a sandwich on my break.

KFC shouldn't be banned though. They've all switched to cooking oil with no trans fat. So they're healthier. I heard that all fast food places may be switching soon so their food is healthier.

Another reason fast food should be banned is because one meal is the maximum amount of calories and fat someone should have in a day. The food gets addicting and people waste money eating it all the time. Also...the prices are outrageous for pop. A medium drink at the McDonalds I worked at was $1.39. You can go buy a 2 liter for that price around here, or a few cents more. Then when you get a family of 4 ordering food and, the price they pay on pop alone would be enough to buy a 12 pack of cans at the grocery store. It's nuts!

Yes they should be banned. If not the quality of ingrediants should be monitered and no bad stuff added in. I'd pay more for a wholesome meal than something that came out of a bag. The supersize me movie enlitened me a little more to how awful the food actually is. Were complaining about the obesity epedemic but nothing is really being done about it. Childrens happy meals are just fat kids waiting to happen

Fast foods should be banned because people do not take responsibility for their actions or themselves.

When they are overweight and in bad health, they immediately blame fast food restaurants for the state of the health.

How crazy is that? We have choices! I make the choice to eat healthy and exercise. The few times a year that I splurge on a burger and fries, I ENJOY it.

Well I don't believe they should be banned either because I don't think people should dictate "good behavior" and a lot of people would suffer because of a few zealots, however there are negative points.

1) Advertising is targeted at children who aren't mature enough to make healthy choices and eat in moderation.

2) Employers pay low wages and workers generally cannot earn tips to suppliment their wages.

3) Packaging is not always biodegradeable and ends up littering highways, streets and landfills.

4) Drive Thrus add to pollution with idling vehicles.

Ban fast foods to help the economy because more people can find jobs in the restaurant business preparing foods and waiting on people. An added benefit is better food can be served and people can lead slower lives to lessen stress.

you can not banned the fastfood at they also contribute a lot on taxes. They also help some people to get jobs..

It is just we need to control and watch the amount we spend on fast food..Its us who need to have accountability for that. Fast food is not bad if you eat once in a while.

for me fast food shan't be banned, it should be banned if they are not foolowign the rules of serving their customers. But if you are looking for the points, first i guess is it is not safe because some fast food are not clean and it is dangerous to our health..
