Why the hell are you forming a punk band if you don't have the guts to break the rules or go with your own opinion? Leave the "should I" voting to those who just want to be popular and nice.

Probably - it depends on the sound you're looking for. I've known 8-piece bands, and 1-man bands - and sometimes the 1-man band sounds better. What you don't really need is a singer - there's no reason why one of the guitarists can't sing as well - or all of them. Remember, you will be paid a flat rate per gig, which you will have to share among the band - so, the more people in the band, the less each of you will be paid per gig.

The sign of a good and talented band is how they use what they have. If you get a bassist, great. If you don't, use that to your advantage, somehow. Make what you have unique and your band will succeed.

Good lord, yes! Synth pads just won't cut it - try a keyboardist if you like, but it really can't work. Unless your singer's Barry White :-)

If you don't have a keyboard you should really have a bass. Something has to provide the bottom notes that go through your chest and move your feet.

It's all according to your guitarist's style. most music, without a bass part, be it guitarist, pianist, or keyboardist, will sound incomplete.

Not really, though if there's a keyboardist or another guitarist that would work as well.
