I am due in 3 days, and my husband was chopping up raw chicken on the chopping board. I didnt realise and chopped up some mushrooms and ate a couple from the same board. I am now really scared that it could hurt my baby. Does anyone know how bad it actually is?

When i had my boy 5 months ago the midwives told me not to believe anything ppl tell you about food, you can eat anything you want the only reason they tell you not to eat soft cheeses mushrooms etc is because they are mould and fungi but unless its no good for you it will be fine for your baby, and other things like chocolate you shouldnt eat simply because it has caffine in it which is not only addictive it will do the same to your baby as it does to you give you energy :)

The same goes for when breast feeding you drink caffine ur baby will be too so unless you want to stay up all night avoid the caffine

Wow didn't know the mushrooms could affect a baby. Well unless is raw. Never eat things that are raw I prefer warm mushroom in soup hmmm...delicious!

Oh and BTW: bad hand of yours beware always baby first!!

Dont fret most likely symptoms would have developed by now....youd be amazed at how well our immune systems actually work. If you do start having any symptoms of salmonilla than contact your physician. Theyre generally flu like in nature.
