Routers should need NO software whatever as they dont even run on the computer, they are independant devices!

If you need to configure it you simply open a web browser (already on your machine called Internet Explorer 7) can open the routers web address. Just type 192.168.0.1 for dlinks normal default and work away.

If you need a wireless card driver go get the update from the dlink website.

All that said, change computer shops, this one does not know anything about networks period!

You shouldn't need a driver for a router. Connect the network cable between your PC and router. Open your web browser to http://192.168.0.30 . Your router may use a different address. Check http://www.dlink.com to be sure.
