If they utter the words "But soft, what light through yonder window...", there's a good chance that they are acting.

I am the same type of person and well to tell you the truth sometimes your instinct tells you right off the bat if it thinks the person is a trustable person or not. If someone is acting in front of you i think you have this fake feeling going inside of you and well sometimes time proves itself and facts get uncovered. Fake people tend to really look for your opinion or your aweness. Like admiration of what they are saying while people that are true or proud but don't need the "WOW" from you. Look for a attitude that seeks attention and usually the person is a bit more fake than real in this world. If the person is true you feel the truth and not the fakeness floating around. Personally just take what people are saying into a count with friendliness and if you dont find them honest to you then just give them a bit of distance from you.

I hate acting too. But, for survival purposes, I sometimes find myself acting too. It's just happen that way. That means, even though I don't like that person, I still act to be friend with her/him but with certain distance. I see acting as a way to reduce tension between two parties. Everyday, we meet different kind of people. It is impossible to trust each of them. Take your time to get to know that person. It is normal that you don't trust people easily. It is a way to prevent us from getting hurt. It is alright to feel that way. :)
Sometimes, acting is necessary. I would rather have a friend instead of an enemy. So, it depends on your definition of acting.
Acting -> Getting to know better -> share little -> honest feedback received -> trust -> A good friend -> Best friend (If you have come a long way, then congrats!)
It takes time for a seed to broom, so as friendship!

sometimes you have to trust your instincts your instincts are usually right. I know where you are coming from it is very hard for me to make friends but when I do make friends I usually have them for life. I think the best way to know if your friends are acting or not is to see how they act when you are with other people and when you are alone with them. Also usually when something bad happens that is when you find out who your real friends are
