Are British people always bitter and angry?

Or is it only when they're not drinking....

I am from the U S and I don't find them that way at all. I find them to be more serious and thoughtful. Just because they don't bounce around like a silly puppy all the time doesn't mean they are angry. Of course if you put a pint or two in them they do laugh more !
