I have seen this show only once. Let me say that the "Blue Collar Comedy" tours and show have made me entirely sick of Jeff Foxworthy and his decades old "redneck" jokes. The man is a one trick pony that has outlived his prime. He was funny in the 80's, but tired and worn out now. It seems that most of America eats this crap for breakfast, but I am with you on this one. It would be a much better show if it moved a little more quickly (take a cue from jeopardy, people. We like for more than one or two fairly basic questions to be asked between commercial breaks, without a lot of drum-rolling and fanfare, ala "Who wants to be a millionaire"). The popularity of this program makes me question the intellectual quality of our great nation. You want people to get off their azzes and live well, exercise, care about social problems? Then get this mindless drivel off the air! It isn't so much about entertainment as it is about producers making a fat buck off the ignorance of a vast segmant of American society. SAD!

I like the concept of the show, but the implimentation is lacking. It moves far too slowly. The contestants almost always depend on the 5th graders to progress in the show. They almost always seem clueless about very basic things, it almost seems like they seek out idiotic people that don't at first seem that way.
I think the idea of pitting adults vs children is good - indeed I think schoolage children get a bad rap from the media. it's nice to see smart kids rewarded (though I'd like to see them truly rewarded in the show. If the kids answers for the adult, the kid should get at least half of the cash.

It's really sad that people can't answer some of those questions. I realize that it was a long time ago for some people, and they probably forgot some of the things they ask, since a lot of those things aren't used in everyday life, but why the heck would they go on a show to prove how dumb they are? I just don't get it...

i like the show. but then i admit i could not answer all the questions. but that just proves to me that what i have always said is true, they teach a lot of worthless information in school. i am 31 and don't use even half the crap i learned in school. if the people on the show felt insulted, they wouldn't be on there!!

These 5th graders are still in school and they are still learning, so everything is still fresh in their minds.
Whereas, most adults have been out of school for ten years and we usually do not remember basic 5th grade stuff.
It's not about who is "smarter". It's about how much you put into your mind everyday. Adults are not in school anymore and they are no longer learning school-work. But fifth graders are still in school and learning new things everyday.
Cheers
