If you can just stop would you tell me how? Cause as far as I know it's not that easy & it's not something you can just stop doing because you want to stop. There is nothing in this world harder to do than to stop loving someone. Think of all the bad things not all the good things thats the best way I know to help yourself.

Sure its possible. I think we tend to hold on to people on purpose. Even though we say we want to move on, a part of us doesn't. A part of us has grown comfortable feeling the way we do about someone, and even though its painful, its comforting at the same time. The idea of truly not feeling *anything* at all for someone is scarier than feeling something that hurts. So we hold on until we are 100% ready to move on, which usually happens when we've found someone else to move on with. Well, it sometimes happens then, hopefully. Then again, I'm pretty much in the same boat you are in, and I have been for some 8-9 years, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

Most mutual loving relationships started with one feeling love for the other prior to it becoming mutual. We human beings arrive to the deeper feelings of love at different times. If you love this person, maybe it's not time to give up yet. If the other person at least likes you very much, there is a chance that like could grow into love over time if you continue to be yourself and do not put pressure (concerning feelings) on this other person. Enjoy the relationship as it is now and it may deepen but don't devote an extreme amount of time to it.

If you love someone that much, I guess you can keep on loving them as much as you can, even though they're not around anymore. Go on with your life but I don't think you'll ever forget..just go on and do something else till you're able to heal on your own.

If you are in love with someone who doesn't love you it hurts, but in a way its easier because you don't really have to do anything. If you found someone who loved you back, you would have to deal with them.
You don't really give much information--are you married with 3 kids? If you aren't married, then why stay in this situation? There are a lot of other people who would like to have a relationship with a caring person like you.
