I have a room mate who showers maybe once or twice a week. She smells like sweaty socks, wine, and I think she's conscious of her stench because she's always putting way too much perfume, which doesn't help the situation at all but makes it worst. She's kinda, well, pretty fat too. So that may add to it. She stinks so bad it's hard to breathe around her. How do I let her know, nicely, that she stinks and to shower!!!?

The only way around it is to tell her. You can bring it up next time she is putting on the perfume. Another way to bring it up is if either one of you in the room, the other comes in and you can just kinda hint/mention it: "Hey, ...... I'm gonna use the bathroom, did you want to shower or anything first?" Get a room freshener and put it boldly somewhere in your room. Or you can get her some nice smelly soaps or scented lotions for her birthday or something. Hope this helps!

Have a quiet, tactful talk w/ her. Be discrete & don't tell others you talked to her. Don't bring up her weight. Just focus on the idea she should shower more often and not use perfume because it doesn't help.
BTW, she may not be using the shower because she feels too self-conscious to use a communal bathroom.
Hygiene is hygiene, regardless of size. That is a prejudice.
If you need help finding a way to bring up the topic & figuring out what to say, go to the counseling center on campus & make an appointment. The counselor can also help you identify ways to help her. Even if you don't care about her, you are her roommate until the end of the school year so it's in your best interest.
Be kind. Your behavior demonstrates your character. Karmic payback can be unpleasant.

i know this is always hard to tell someone w/o sounding like a jerk . Hmm. I think you would just have to sit her down and tell her well I just noticed lately that you've been putting on a little to much perfume is there something wrong with the shower/bathtub (like do you think is it broken) ? and that's why you've been putting on so much perfume.
*I just don't think it would be straight forward and say YOU STINK TAKE A BATH! *

Give her a couple hints of her stench (and mentioning the shower part). Don't tell her directly at first but if she still doesn't get the hints, then tell her but in a nice way. Don't just storm up to her and say the problem she has. People need to be treated fairly so just keep it nice and simple.

Omg.. I had a roommate like that. I had her removed from my room. Before that I told her that she was so rank, I could smell her from down the hall. She didn't believe it either and said she had some of the most expensive perfume!! Ugh!! I'm a big (and sexy) girl myself and I get my happy @$$ up and get in the shower in the morning and night. Some big girls are just lazy and sloppy (and gives us a bad name).
Bottom line tell her "look.. you stink.. you need to keep up with your personal hygiene.. otherwise we need to redefine the parameters of our living arrangements" In other words, kick her out! :)

I had a roommate like this too....Is her name Holly? J/k. I would say things like "go take a shower and get ready to go out." and if she opposed I might add "just go take one real quick because you hair looks really good when it's freshly washed" Or if y'all don't go anywhere together just say something like "I want to take a shower and go to bed, but you need one too, so go ahead first." I think 1 or two times a week is an okay way to shower. Maybe you should change roomates or find an air freshener if it really bothers you. Or get her to go swimming, then she'll really have to shower.

since its a girl give her a really nice necklace/ airfreshener tree thing.
jk no but try getting her one of those body spray things that would mask the smell
or rub deoderant on her when shes sleeping

hey just tell her she skinks!! u shouldnt have to put up with it!! or jst like but her perfume or deyodrant if she cnt afford it orr give her a big speech how boys hate gilrs whoo smell lol!!
