I went through this several years ago - only the dad had a job and really could give them those things. In my case, the Court ordered a home study where a social worker evaluated the two homes and reported back to the Court. Best wishes.

Encourage the fact to Dad that he wants to be involved. Be the "better man" by telling him- I want to do what is best for our son...we should decide stuff together. You need to back each other up. With that being said...Ex's are usually ex's for a reason and sometimes play the "payback game". Do not let your 14 yr. old tell you the way it is...do not doubt you..after all who has made the decisions, loved unconditionally and been there always?! No- the court will not say you do too much! You are showing #1. working toward your own dream...#2. responsibility...#3. fairness.
It's great to be the favorite..but that only lasts until your kid matures- what you are offering is for a lifetime!
I feel good about answering this because I have a 17 yr. stepson,a 14 yr. old step-daughter and a 7 yr. old biological son. My hubby's ex played this game since the kids were 6 and 8! Good luck and know that you are doing a good job!

If you're taking collegiate writing, I'd ask for a refund. Everything you write is one long convoluted sentence that lacks cohesion.

BUT... after filtering through everything, I get your drift. Your ex is trying to 'buy' your son with empty promises. His mouth is writing checks his @ss can't cash. Well... too freaking bad. Stick to your guns. If he wants custody so bad, make him sue for custody. I'm sure that you can provide the Court with proof of his work record and financial status. And DO NOT back down from getting what's due. If he's behind... make him pay, PERIOD.
He's so broke, he wants your son so you'll have to pay HIM.
Show him up for what he really is, a deadbeat dad.

If you are getting a 4.0 in "college writing" the college should be discredited. You have all the room you wish to use to ask a question, and if you'd take the time to organize your thoughts, and then put them concisely into this format, everyone would know exactly what you want. And Check Spell is definitely needed. But as it turns out, you want someone to say, more or less, 'poor baby, you have it so hard. What a shame dear, we love you'. OK consider it said.
I think you are lying about being a college student in a college level composition class and carrying a 4.0 grade point average.

2 things, your child is trying to play you, but at 14 he has the right of choice about who he lives with. Let him go live with his father, he won't like not having anything. but he is old enough, and should have the right to make mistakes and learn from them.
