I think it totally depends on the relationship...in some cases both people know right away while in others it takes more time. How does your significant other feel about you? If you know this should be a good indicator. And truthfully, just because you ask sooner than later doesn't mean you will get married tomorrow, you may not get married for a long time.

Good Luck!

I think it all depends on the couple,I have been w/ the same guy almost 8 years,we have two children, and just recently started discussing marriage! It just was never at the top of the list we are more concerned about taking care of the things we and our children need now and for our future, but we're getting there! It's not something that should be rushed into!!

I don't think there is a perfect number. My buddies parents got married after 3 weeks and have been happily married for 35 years. I have another friend who's parents are still not married after 25+ years. It is totally up to the people involved.

You should be absolutely positive that you want to spend the rest of your life looking at their mug. I would say be together for at least a year before considering it, after consideration then bring it up.

No less than a year. Then don't actually get married for a few more after that. And live with them. Anyone can be charming on dates. To live with someone is to know them.

I would say about a year. Because a lot of ppl get married only after a few months and most end up in divorce. Ppl need to get to know each other first.

It depends on each individual person I guess.. Me and my wife met 7 years ago .. and we've only been married for 2 so we waited 4 years or so before we even talked about it...then it took another year to actually do it...

Good question I always think that inner feeling one gets is very charismatic and true . .chemistry another but to feel so comfortable with each other and realizes no one is perfect is that total feeling of love compassion and to be able to laugh at eachother mistakes this all takes place in 2 years but during those 2 years you are building your wonderful relationship.......best of luck

Rule # 1: The woman should never bring it up. It must be the guy's idea. Or think it's his idea!
