Wireless means there is no cable running the internet. there will still be cables but they will not be running to your computer. Your router is sending a single to your computer. You dont have to get a wireless from your ISP you can just goto bestbuy or staples and buy a wireless router. But if you dont know a lot about computers it maybe a good idea to have someone set it up for you. But yes if you have a laptop you would be able to go just about anywhere in your house and be online. The thing is if you get wireless and you have a computer ( as in a tower not laptop) you need a wireless card installed into your computer. But if you have a laptop they are mostly built in and you dont need to buy a wirless card. Yes if you get a wireless router you should be albe to hook many computers to the internet.

UPDATE

If its about a year old it should be built in. What kind of laptop is it? Dell?

Well anyway I would go buy a wireless router. You can pick up one for about $30+.

Well just for a different answer.
I run a wireless ISP. Thus supply wireless broadband.

Our service connects users (usually miles from the transmitter) to our backbone which is connected to the internet. We have to supply an outside radio/antenna in order to get our signal to the location the user needs internet.
It replaces the DSL/Cable line. It is NOT wireless within the users location! If that is what you are "ordering" then you probably do need to get it from your ISP.

Once the "signal" is brought into the users location our users can then add a local wireless router and have "local" wireless broadband. If this is what you are ''ordering" it can be purchased anywhere. Small Local area wireless is what Linksys, dlink, buffalo. etc supply. They are "consumer" items and only work within a few feet (100-300) of the router.

You can buy a wireless netcard for the computer and it will work just fine. The only wires you will have are the power plugs and usually the modem to the wireless router. If you only have one computer and its not a laptop or you don't need to carry it around your house...just stick with what you have. It will make things a lot easier if your computer is not ready to work with a wireless network.

wireless broadband just means that you don't need any wires to connect either a laptop or PC to the internet. you have to get an adaptor for the PC, most laptops have them built in.
if your laptop has a good battery life then yes you can surf the web without any wires attached to the laptop.
obviuosly for the PC etc you will still need wires connecting to the printer, power, and any other devices you have.
if they are providing a wireless router then you can connect as many computers to them as you want. and then share files and printers as well as web access.

Depends on what you mean by a kit. If they included a wireless adapter for your current machine, then yes you can use that and get rid of wires. If they didn't then you can always go out and buy one for yourself and get rid of the wires.

Yes, you can also go out and get yourself another computer and have them both on at the same time. Remember to enable the security on the wireless settings or your neighbours will enjoy it just as much as you.
