Bryant may be a scoring freak, but he can't get his team to win. McGrady has learned to be a team player and rounded out his game, which is why the Rockets are smoking the Lakers. Bryant needs to learn that it's not the Kobe Show, and he can't win without someone else (i.e. Shaq).

All the guys answered it correctly, nobody compares the two. Well probably, there is not much hype in comparing them because Kobe already accomplished alot and TMac is simply just playing it just for fun. Kobe is playing like saving his dear life. No comparison I think.

People really need to stop the comparisons. They don't play the same, they don't look the same, and their accomplishments aren't comparable. Kobe is better. Tmac is overrated. He's good, but he's overrated. Yao is the best player on the Rockets now. They probably compare tmac and kobe because they're fans of both (i.e. rockets fan but like kobe) and they need some kind of resolution so they can sleep at night.

I don't hear a lot of comparisons between the two. Yes, their individual matchup is hyped whenever their teams play each other (and both guys are healthy), but while Kobe is mentioned a lot as the best all around player in the league, not many announcers put McGrady in that category.
They're both extremely athletic players who came right out of high school. But I don't hear a lot of direct comparisons between the two.
Kobe is also frequently in the MVP debate (not that he'd win it, but he's usually mentioned as a candidate), while T Mac is seldom mentioned as an MVP candidate.
Kobe is better.

I don't know of anyone who compares the 2. Maybe it's a regional thing. The only people I hear kobe compared to is Jordan. All the time. On ESPN, ESPNWS, Sportscenter, Rome is burning, Mike and Mike in the morning, Steven something or another's show, and the list goes on. Sorry, haven't heard it. Except when T-Mac first came on the scene.

When people compare the two of them it's not about stats, it's about skill sets. They both have similar skill sets. They can shoot from anywhere, finish strong at the hoop, distribute the ball (although tmac is undoubtedly better at this), and finish difficult shots.

Maybe because they both were one of the first player to come straight out of HS to the NBA; same size; play 2 guard; and are great scorers

Because they're about the same size, they play the same position and the same kind of game. Also the're both MJ wannabes.
