translate and simplify " eight more than twice the difference between a number and two"

eight more is 8+
twice: multipy by to 2
difference btw a number and 2: x-2

so 8+2(x-2)

8+2x-4
4+2x

2(x-2) + 8

or

2(2-x) + 8

Simplified: 2x +4 for the above
12-2x for below

"eight more" + 8

"twice the difference" 2 * the subtraction of the next two numbers

" The difference between a number and two" part isn't very clear. So could be either (2-x) or (x-2). Usually number from two or vice versa would be used.
