I'm going to be getting hedgehogs and I read online that you can feed them cat food. I was wandering what cat foods are good? Would Purina or Iams be good? What other foods do you feed your hedgehogs?

Wow... I never knew that. I have one and we just buy him hedgehog food from the pet store. Another thing I suggest is bugs, the ones in the cans at the pet store. They love them. They like the silk worms and crickets and grasshoppers. Hide them in their bedding to give them a sense of hunting. If they're in a glass cage you can get them real grasshoppers from the pet store too. Our hedgehog loves those bugs though. The second we put them in there he's all over them. READ THIS!!! Oh I just remembered this. There's been a recall on all wet cat and dog foods. A lot of animals have been getting sick and some have died from eating it. So I wouldn't give them any wet cat food for a while. I'd stick with the food at the pet store. It's a bit expensive but if you want them to live you'll do it. The dry food is okay though, so if it's dry food you want to give them, then you can.

HEDGEHOG BREEDERS HAVE FOUND THAT THEY HAVE HEALTHIER, MORE PRODUCTIVE HEDGEHOG WHEN THEY USE SELECT HEDGEHOGS FOOD. A 2# BAG SHOULD LAST A HEDGEHOG ABOUT 2 MONTHS. {IF YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TO PURCHASE A LARGER AMOUNT, IT FREEZES WELL.}
