what is it about shy people?

I'm wondering what collective thoughts are about people who are reserved. What do you think when you meet or observe them? Do you like them, or do they intrigue you, or do they agitate you? Or what???

This just seems like an interesting topic to me to say the least.

Being shy can be very disabling in many situations. I have worked very hard on this myself, and still struggle with it after many years. As far as how a shy person is percieved, that is often one of the most intense things on their mind while fighting to say anything. I know, someone will accuse me of confusing shyness with social phobia, but I hold them to be different points on the scale.
