Where did this fashion start? The most obvious answer is in Rap music, but where did it start first? Who thought it would be a good idea to wear pants so big it looks like they stole them from their dad or something?

Well to me Rap music is a form of Hip Hop that entitles all individuals a chance to express themselves any way that they chose. Fashion is also an element as well but with all things fashion evolves and changes. Many people would say that the fad came from Hip Hop music but also you have to look deeper than that. For that it is a known fact that homosexuals in prison does this as a sign that says that they are available. I am not being closed minded but that has been stated many times in the past years to me by people that I know that work within the field of Law Enforcement. But the origin of it who knows but where it is found. Yes in Hip Hop and as well in Prisons.

The fad of the drooping pants began sometime in the 1990s. You can see it in the music videos of some Rappers back then.

Black American males thought of this after having sex and prior to pulling their pants up. They got the brilliant idea, thinking how sexy they must look and started to wear their pants that way. Soon, this fad caught on in the hood, in rap, etc.
Same thing as the hand on the crotch area. Not sure if ol' Michael thought of that one first....supposed to be sexy. Ha!
It's repulsive....

I was in the mall once and there was this guy walking in front of me. He was about 50, 6 feet tall and about 300 pounds. Walking towards him were 3 teenage boys wearing pants like that. And as they passed each other the man told the boys that they were the reason he couldn't find pants in his size. It was pretty funny ... guess you had to be there :)

I have seen them trying to run and they just cant! lol Women should start wearing pants like that to show all them guys how silly it looks!

It's due to the fact that the style is now dead & gone, & they don't keep up with the in fashion thing, so my guess is that they have a load of crap weighing them down & their poor excuse of a blessed gift GOD gave to them as a brain & waste.

I think the pants are the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen some of those guys can hardly walk it is so funny. Do they really think that it is attractive to us.

Good question, ha ha I just remember seeing this guy who didn't have a butt at all and he would let hi pants sag...but it emphasized the fact that he didn't have an *ss. It' a hideous trend.

yep, it did start in jails. the inmates weren't allowed to have belts, because they were either hanging thamselves with them or using them as weapons, there for, pants fell down. not like taking away the belts posed as any less of a risk. just made it easier for those sexually abusive inmates to get ahold of them easier. so to all those thugs out there who are trying to play it hard, you just making yourselves look easier, oh and have fun trying to keep 'dat on 'da down low. FREAKS!!!!
