Anything to do with advancing technology. It is necessary to deal with the fast past changes we are experiencing.
Another good subject to learn about is spirituality and its importance to the human psyche. Almost every group of people on the earth have or have had some type of concept of spirituality. Why would it be so important across so many centuries, continents and races if there was nothing to consider? Each has their own sense of spiritualiy regardless if one agrees with another's belief or experience. Look at our current conflicts - on the idealogic level it is a spiritual conflict (obviously there are also economic and other levels too). Food for thought.

Your question's a bit vague, but if you're talking philosophy, the things that seem to be talked about alot are Existentialism and Post-Modernism.
