All in all, both are under the influence of drugs in order to escape the current situation they both are in.

It's basically about when people "steal your sunshine" or bring you down, it's up to you to keep on keepin' on.
At least that's what I got out of the lyrics.

It's "Steal My Sunshine" and I always thought it was about drugs or something, but if you go here: http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=8110 then you can read through what other people think it means, or you can even read the lyrics, and maybe find another meaning.
