There is a one way/one trip (not limited to one day) permit. It's sold at DMV for about $10. Destination must be in California. Insurance laws still apply.

get a five day trip permit from DMV and then call cal trans to get a wide load permit or call a permit company like quality permits at 909-748-7715 or comdata permits, you will also need wide load signs which you can get at a truck parts store or truck stop,permits and signs should not cost more than 150.00, if it is over 10 ft wide you mite have to get pilot car,if that number doesnt work, try WEST COAST PERMITS or CAL PERMITS orALL CAL PERMITS, it is imparitive that you have correct hight wighth length,1in over can get you a hefty fine if you get caught,it's safer and cheeper to get a pro.
