No contest - the fans. Everyone who even thinks basketball is a decent sport would love to see that match-up. Could you even imagine how great that game would be?

LoL no contest. Larry Bird and Isaiah Thomas spank Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash up and down the court.
Larry Bird is a top 5 player of all time, Dirk isnt even top 25 (although i love Dirk and he is a GREAT player he doesnt compare to Bird).
Isaiah Thomas is a top 20 player of all time while Nash is not in the top 40-50. Isaiah played an entire game, which means playing defense, something Nash does not do. Thomas didnt get the chance to play in the same kind of offense that Nash gets to run in, and Nash is completely overrated. Again i love Nash and love watching him play, BUT wow he does not compare to the great PG's of all time. The guy leaves Dallas and they dont miss him at all (like most said they would) and have actually IMPROVED without him. They are much better than the Suns and will spank the Suns in a 7 game series. So if he was THAT important he couldnt be so easily replaced.
Anyways Bird/Thomas wins it everytime.

This would be a great match-up. Isiah and Bird are slightly better than the other two in terms of individual talent. They have had great competition and they played with fire. That was what basketball is about. It's about passion. These days, it's all about the fundamentals. The 80's were a different era.
I think Dirk and steve would win this one. They would win because they have great chemistry. They are like the Stockton and Malone of the Dallas Mavericks. They played well with one another. Bird and Thomas, on the other hand, were opponents in the 80's. They only became teammates in the all-star game.

Definitely, Dirk and Steve!!!
Both have the same skill sets but it boils down to chemistry.
Bird and Isaiah don't get along very well. Look at what happened when Bird became top management in Indiana. He fired Isaiah.

Nowitzski and nash would win easily. Bird was pretty good at shooting back in the day, but Dirk now is better than Bird was then. Same story with Nash and Thomas. Though i think a better match up would be Magic Johnson and Bird vs. Dirk and Nash.

Bird and Thomas. Just look at their competition, so much harder yet they succeeded. I doubt Dirk and Steve would fair well in the 80's but Larry and Isaiah would be glorious even now.
but if you want the best 3 pt shooter assist machine power forward guard combo.
I would say John Stockton and Oscar Robertson.

lets see here we have two clutch hall of famers and multiple champions against two wannabes who have never won anything and are best known for choking
Bird is usually in the top 5 or 10 players of all time discussion while dirk no-win-zki isn't even a top 10 power forward of all time. Huge edge to Bird who is a much smarter player and would pick dirk alive.
Then we go to Isiah Thomas who is super clutch going against one of the worst defenders in the league.
This is like taking your top 2 players from varsity and putting them against some jv guys
Bird and Thomas mop the floor with them

the only a form of gamers i think of is overvalued is Steve Nash. He grew to become this huge participant while he got here to Pheonix. In Mike Dantonio's equipment, any element look after could typical 10+ assists. you won't be in a position to become a hall of popularity participant in 3 years. and to no longer point out his suspect protection and rebounding. John Stockton, Larry chook and Dirk nowitzki have been good gamers in the time of their careers.
