The only people that watch my kids are family and friends. I refuse to leave my kids with strangers. As far as do I trust men with my kids: of course. My kids love spending the night with their grandpa ( no grandma). He takes them out to eat, to the park to hang out (or to the mall in my daughters case now) and then to the video store so that they can pick out a movie. He makes the night about them. Not to mention all of the kids uncles. Being a man doesn't make you automatically incapable of taking care of children just like being a woman doesn't automatically make you capable.

I think men babysitters are ok if you don't have daughters. I wouldnt let a man watch my baby girl but I'd probably be ok with him watching a boy (if I had one).
I had a boy babysitter once when I was little but he was a neighbor and my mom knew him. If I knew the guy I'd be ok with it.

If I knew him well & he had experience. My brother has watched my kids before & they love it, because he's rough with them(they like to wrestle and my back doesn't. Lol ) My husband is the best, though. Of course, I don't consider him a babysitter. He's just a daddy that's good with the kids!

I liked having a guy babysiter for my boys. He'd play boy games - baseball, football, soccor, and video games with them. The girl babysitters would read, watch movies, or do art projects with them. It was a nice change off for my little guys.

But like w/ all sitters... do the background check & references.

RE: adult men, clarify the babysitter delusion...? what's it that pulls married adult men to the babysitter? Why do adult men have fantasies or sights to the female that cares for his young ones?

My brother in law watches our kids all the time. I think he's great with them. I would have to know the person(male or female) really, really well though before I would let them watch my children.

most of the man i've seen that are sitting are the ones that have the most outmost patience and are super duper caring, i think they should be giving a chance to take care of children, obviously, they have to be checked for all types of experience, and background checks just as much as a woman baby sitter. =0)

My girls love when my brother in law watches them. They kick me out of the house. Just a regular guy watching them, I would have to check him out as much as I would a woman.

My daughter was in a day care that had two men as care givers and they were great with the kids. It doesn't take active mammary glands to take care of children.
