Well looking at the standings right now, New Jersey is at the 7th seed and Olrando is at the 8th. I wouldn't see the Knicks overtaking the 7th seed from New Jersey. So they are fighting for that 8th seed against the Magic. Keep in mind that the Pacers are also in the playoff contention also.

Evaluating the Kincks, they have been playing good as you said at the 50% mark at 7-7 since the All-Star break. Looking at their upcoming schedule they'll be facing some tough teams such as Dallas and Cleveland. However, they also have those games against poor teams like Bobcats and also the other teams they are contending with like Nets, Magic, Pacers, etc.

However, as well as they've been playing since the all-star break, they've have two very staggering injuries in Jamal Crawford and David Lee. I feel that Jamal is probably their best offensive player and David Lee vital to their rebounding and interior defense. The loss of those two guys is what I feel will prevent them from making the playoffs.

So sorry if I burst your bubble if you're a Knicks fan, but those two injuries are going to bring them down eventually. I feel that the Magic will keep their 8th seed as long as Dwight keeps playing the way he is and his teammates start stepping up. As for the Pacers, they've had a horrible 2nd half of the season with, what was it, 11 straight losses I think, and they lost another against the Rockets tonight. I say the standings are going to remain the same for the playoffs. But there's still hope for them Knicks. Keep cheering!

Well is it still possible for them to make the playoffs? Yes, because the teams ahead of them are extremely consistent (in losing). Will they make the playoffs? Probably not, but considering the performance of the last seeds in the East lately, i wouldn't rule out the knicks until the last week of the regular season.

They could. If they could make a late season push and hope that New Jersey or Indiana slips, they could definitely make it
