You don't indicate if you are looking at a grad or undergrad level. At an undergrad level if you plan for it early (by your sophomore year) you should be able to do it at no extra cost (you may have to take some heavier credit semesters (e.g. 18) but most universities do not charge more for credits 15-21). If you are looking at grad, if you go to a program that has a Joint degree program where they have negotiated a head of time equivalance and substitution...it may not cost that much more.

Talk to an advisor, but look in the university catalog and see if both of the majors have the same curriculum. If both of the majors need the same classes then it's "killing two birds with one stone" Though one of them will still need extra classes to take. So, yes it will be a little more expensive, but you get two degrees in four years

I did a dual major in English Lit and Sociology with a minor in Education in four years. It was a back breaker but I did it. And there was no extra cost, just the normal blood letting.

I'd look at the curriculum and chose my electives from one which can be used for the other. Also, (this is what I am doing) you could get a bachelor's in one and then master in the other.
