Her male pen pal is in wayne county jail and may be released this year.She has strong feelings for him,and feels it may be her destiny to meet him.He has commited 2 violent crimes and served 10yrs..Our 17 yr marriage is on a knife edge;not because of this pen pal though.I have failed to keep work/life/kids/interests balanced.I am taking action.Shortened working week,anxiety medication,counselling for temper,ceased smoking,helping at home with teens and chores.i.e.being the husband she's missed.She's looking for a way out and I don't want her to.
She speaks to pen pals family regular.They paid for his advert on the web so he had outside mail coming in(should have served 40yrs).I understand that would keep him sane.But with imminent release back to his family,why would they want my wife there?Obviously I am making assumptions.It could be just to say thank you.

But it looks to me like she wants you out and this other guy to replace you.
Perhaps you should divorce her and leave her to her violent future.
Make sure your kids come with you.

Well if it was my wife I would stop all communication between them.
I think you both should get some counseling.
