There's a guy at work who comes into my office for no apparent reason and just stands there chatting about Dr. Who. I'm always busy and these interruptions drive me nuts. I just sit and look at him. When finishes his thought we just look at each other until he thinks of something else. All the while I just want to get back to what I was doing. Eventually he'll leave. If I say anything at all as he is leaving he'll come right back in. It's crazy! I hate to keep my door closed all the time. Folks who "drop in" at work really should consider that not everyone has spare time to just chat.

Yes.... sometimes I get in conversations with people at the store or standing in line somewhere are ocassionaly they are the chatty type that talk about all kinds of odd things that I can in no way relate to. It's my fault for initiating it!

YES! i have a neighbor that i avoid if i don't have a least an hour to waste. he is single and lonely and admits to a few mental problems, but is other wise a nice guy. i just don't have that much time to stand around talking!! maybe i have the time, i guess the truth is i don't want to stand around that long talking to him!!

Yep. It makes me space out all the time or I'll say that I need to go to the bathroom. I know someone who talks like there's no tomorrow. I tried to listen but she just goes in loops!

one time this girl wouldnt stop talking to me in class, so i dropped every hint i could think of to make her shut up. As a last resort before i cursed her out i said "man im really sleepy, im gonna sleep" so i put my head on the desk and closed my eyes,
AND SHE KEPT TALKING TO ME
needless to say i lost my temper, and now shes giving me the silent treatment. its so funny because she thinks not talking to me is a bad thing for me.

YES! And it's horrible. I feel like I'm drowning and no one throws me a life jacket.
It happens to me all the time. It's always females though.
Guys don't seem to be as bad about that.

Hey, I know what you mean. Have you seen that new movie, you know the one I mean. My friend and I had coffee the other day and she was telling me about this great Italian restaurant in town. They have really good lasagna she says. I don't like lasagna much, but I love chicken Parmesan, don't you?
