I live in Australia!
Better answer the question properly hey?
It's a great place to be, the city is right next to the beach (Melbourne that is) so you can go out for lunch at the docklands, shop around then hit the beach for a tan & swim.
The outback at BEAUTIFUL! My Dad takes me on camps and hikes through the mountains and forests.
There are heaps of places in Victoria such as Marysville and Mahiika where you can just go out bush, it's very relaxing.
The people here are very friendly, laid back & easy going.
You'll find most of them will love your American accent (especially the women). I can't really rate the women because everyone is different. There arn't many "large" women around, you'll find most of them are avergage and gorgeous ;) Lol.
You thinking of coming down under for a visit?

I live in Australia. Apparently it's like California here (well i went to California and there was a lot of sun and that was about it), but most tourist think we're really nice and easy-going. Plus we don't eat out as much as you guys do. The shielas here are totally hot. Oz is bigger then the US but we only have the population of New York (about 21 million). We dont ride kangaroos and most ppl dont have them as pets. Melbourne is the best city on the east coast - not Sydney. And if anyone asks, Colligwood suck (in reference to aussie rules).

Spent just over two months travelling from Sydney to cairns in a camper......had a great time and found people very friendly.....some scenery is stunning and would recommend a trip to Fraser island from Hervey bay and to sail the Whitsunday islands from Airlie beach if you are in these areas as they were probably my highlights......
Have heard a great deal about the "Oz Experience" bus tour which is supposed to be a good way to travel Oz especially if you are a lone traveller looking to meet lots of new people.....
Hope you have a great time if you make it there.....its a wicked experience....
Good luck

New South and Victoria have snow and a few solid ski motels easily in a freak of nature snowed in Victoria some week in the past 40 tiers sooner or later a week later snow. they are the only states to get snow properly worth pointing out. Queensland has had very easy snow on the atypical social gathering.

That is a beautiful place to visit but the people kinda left me cold. The men were quite chauvinistic and the women, well I wasn't checking them out in the way I think you are asking.
