I get blue-screened alot and everytime i try to burn a cd on windows media player there's an error and it shuts down. i'm not very knowledgable when it comes to computers, but my friend suggested it could be a driver problem? is there any way to tell/fix this problem?

I would suggest you to reinstall the operating system... if you cant be botered there is a temporary solution, your laptop needs some maintenance.. try to update your machine by clicking on start-all programs-windows update and go thru the steps in microsoft site... if its up to date try to download the latest windows media player from microsoft.com.. use cc cleaner to check for any errors in your registry..

you can download CCCleaner from www.cccleaner.com.... clear all the temp files atleast once in a week... scan your pc with free tools like ADAware SE...

All the best...

Try one of the followings:

use diff cd writing program.
upgrade ur memory
IF u only getting thsi when are writing/copying cd then chances are, its just ur cd drive itself or program, and also like ur friend said.. driver.. but i bet u anything its not the driver.. because u dont need any special driver for cd burner. Cheers and good luck!
