Explain the evolutionary relationship between Cynobacteria and planet Earth?

Cyanobacteria are named because of their respective Carbon and Nitrogen strains in their organism structure.
Carbon is the basis of all living things, 70 % of our atmosphere is Nitrogen... Nitrogen stores well in soil, and bacteria lives well in soil. Perhaps that is the relationship you are thinking of?
