I have to debate at school tomorrow so can someone please help me come up with a good arguement?

This is the subject;

The Galloway plan of union is hereby adopted. A Grand Council of the Americas is to be established. The acts of the council are subject to parliamentary review and veto, but acts of Parliament affecting the colonies are subject to the approval of the Grand Council. The council has authority over matters of defence, westward expansion, and indian relations. It could raise armies, build forts, and warships. It would pay its own expenses by levying taxes.

anyways, what my group is trying to get the people to vote for is yes. You have to make tham want to create the Galloway Plan of Union.

please help me, I have been busy with too many things so I couldn't come up with an arguement. 9_9

Tell them that through this system, a sense of freedom and liberty will prevail, and the actions of one group is in check with another, so that no one group gains the ultimate power of a dicatorship. Through this, the Council, answerable to the people, shall hold its place in the government court, and have authority over matters in the Americas, and be responsible for ratifying acts by Parliament that affect the colonies in caution of unjust treatment. However, in order to prevent irrational choices and unmanageable power, the acts of the Grand Council shall be subject to the choice of Parliament, so as to prevent the uprising of chaos.

It is sort of a parallel structure to the system today in the United States of America. The Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches are balanced against each other: Judicial checks laws for Constitutional appeasment; Executive power to veto bills; Legislative power to override veto with majority vote; Exectutive power of electing Supreme Justices, and etc.

But who is in charge? Place yourself in charge and answer your own questions.
