Should ultimate goal of civilization be the pursuit of these two ideals, as well as can be mustered?

Should we all work together to scientifically determine and actually, truly do WHATEVER it takes to try and get all people to be tollerent enough of eachother to AT LEAST not commit violence on eachother at all levels but especially the highest in terms of combat commited between civilizations and then working on the levels below it, in terms of the largest nations and groups fueding or warring or commiting violence against eachother and working our way down but ultimately not impeading on peoples personal freedoms and rights? And secondly should the other goal of civilization be to figure out the most importent things we need to do, in terms of what are the biggest catastrophic problems currently ongoing and what ones will happen in the future and working to effectively and fully as possible repair or fix or stop or prevent those catastrophies as solutions are determined and implamented to solve the problem or at least minimise it as much as possible as they come up?

Of course both efforts would have to be as maximally benifical and minimally disruptive to each and everyones life, maximally economically benifical wherever possible and minimally economically disruptive wherever required, while doing the least possible enviromental damage and preserving biological diversity and doing the most possible to repair enviromental damage and preserve the range and numbers of all species.

Everything else aught to be left up to peoples individual choice and there pursuit of happiness, is all this right? I know the sentences are long but if you just take your time and think of the concepts as they occour as I've carefully ordered and worded them for easiest comprehension.

I think you might get it and give your thoughts on wether its good or bad or right or wrong and if it sums everything up nicely. I know it sounds impossible and is of course an ideal but knowing what ideal to strive for is a good start and howing to achieve it being a matter of scientific research into government policy and how to actually make it and how to generate and sustain the political will and energy and public focus in a way that doesn't impede peoples freedoms or rights or pursuits of happiness (in that order)that being researched as well.

amp, I think a more comprehensive effective solution could be found then just focussing on ending bullying. Its a start but I think maybe a little more consideration of all the importent details and people involved and how the interact with eachother is needed.

End bullying.

Every act of violence, every cruelty done against another person can be attributed to bullying. From the mean kid on the playground, to the man beating his wife, to serial killers mass murders, to Hitler's genocide of the Jews, all evil is the act of a bully.

So, end bullying & you end all violence & cruelty.

How do we end bullying? Nip it in the bud for one. Do something about the playground kids & maybe they won't grow up to kill people. Analyze why people bully (because they were abused or picked on, because they feel insecure & hate themselves & only feel any worth when they can feel powerful over someone else, push someone else down). How about we stop crimes before they are committed? How about teaching children how to behave? How about having courses on self-esteem & workshops throughout school? It is more important than any other subject & yet it's something that's never taught. Teach people how to love themselves so that they can love others. Teach kids how to deal with bad things that have happened to them & overcome it.

The world is full of bullies & victims. Remove one & the other disappears too. How about we become a world of people who love themselves & one another. A world that isn't living in hatred or fear. A peaceful world where there is no need to bully or hurt anyone. No violence. No war. Can you imagine?

But it will never happen. Because a lot of people in power are bullies, hence their lust for power...

But imagine, if someone had gotten a hold of Hitler in grade school & dealt with his issues before that twisted hateful freak got his manipulative hands on a nation & bullied them into hating and murdering innocent people...

These are not ideals, but plans.
We live in an age of superficiality and materialism. For most this will bring to mind the consumer culture with its physical gratifications, the emphasis in human affairs on economics, the money spent of fashion and glitz, etc. But look at the ways in which feminism measures equality and oppression--all material and physical and emotional.

I see what you're getting at, but the TRUTH is that it is irrelevant. Human life is meaningless, man is still driven primarily by instinct and will be for the next few thousand years until we genetically modify ourselves.

So no matter how much culture manages to eliminate "hatred" it is still seething beneath the surface.
