Honda's are the best cars for your money and they are cheap.
Hyundai's are made (more then the average car) plastic rather then metal thus being cheaper car. If (god forbid) anything happens to you, you don't want a plastic car, do you? American cars break down alot so your always fixing it. And Scions are brand new (company) so I really can't tell you if they are any good plus I haven't heard anyone liking them.
Just weigh everything out and do some research on what you want. Don't settle and don't pick just cause. A car is a huge decision.
Be safe, good luck and happy hunting.

The Hyundai and Chevy have good warranties. The Scion has the Toyota name. Any of them will be good to 100,000 miles. If you plan to keep longer avoid the Hyundai, because they are not well known for lasting all that long and they are expensive to fix, and also avoid the Scion because when it does break it will cost you. If you plan to sell before 100,000 miles the Scion should have the best resale with the Chevy close behind. Basically between the Chevy and the Scion, pick the one you like best and you can get the best deal on.

It's hard to buy a bad car anymore - they're all pretty good. But the warranty on the Chevy is best (no deductible, fully transferrable, no hidden 'gotchas' like Hyundai).
GM has really ramped up quality in the past few years, narrowing the gap between the major japanese brands (whose supporters have already sounded off). Those who say toyota is best haven't been keeping up with the times - they're having some growing pains and have recently had a series of recalls that are some of the biggest in history. I'm not saying they're bad, I'm saying that they are not better (or worse) than the GM offerings.

A Scion tC is really a Toyota Corolla with different body work. They're pretty reliable except for one issue where the side airbag would deploy if you close the door too hard.

honda!!!!!!!!
can't go wrong with a honda.
I have been driving honda civics, accords, preludes
since 1983. They are very reliable, economical, fast,
comfortable, stylish, and they maintain their resale value.
stay away from GM. too many problems with head gasket failures.it got so bad, that GM had to up their warranty
by 10 years.why? too many problems. they figure that with
such an extended warranty, more people would buy their cars.
well, if you don't mind spending every 6 months at the dealer
for major repairs, then buy one.
Hyundai cars, are quite reliable. they were introduced
in the early 1980's they had the pony, and the stellar.
both rear wheel drive vehicles, with a mitsubishi engine,
aswell as mitsubishi components. the only good thing
about those cars were the engines.
the new hyundai vehicles are quite good.
common complaints, cheap interior, alot of road noise,
choppy suspension, and too much vibration and noise from the engine. most of my honda vehicles had between 250.000
and 375.000 kilometers. I got rid of them due to rust. but considering I drove these hondas for at least a period of
17 years it is all good.
good luck
steve

i think of the firebird or trans am could be your ultimate wager for solid and masculine. I easily have seen a team of them with one hundred,000+ miles and that they relaxing large. look for the f-physique type as they look the main aggressive. additionally, f-physique camaros look solid too plus they have some power for a solid value. be certain you get a V8 b/c there isn't something masculine a pair of V8 motor vehicle with a V6. additionally, 1994-1998 mustang gt's are incredibly solid for that value.
