I sent one to Paul McCartney over twenty years ago...

And to his home address as well!

Never got a reply.

I'm still waiting though, lol!

Too busy I guess.

Anyways, I've moved so many times since.

Besides, the kind of letter I sent didn't require a response.

It was just one of those letters in which I professed my everlasting love & devotion for him, know what I mean?

Actually, when I come to think of it, I remember sending it to his son who was only a child back then (seven or eight years old)!

Something insane I'm sure!

How about you though? Who is this mysterious celebrity of yours?

I was obsessed with the L.A. Dodgers when I was a freshman in high school and got autographed pictures and Dodger swag from both Steve Sax and Steve Garvey when I sent them letters. I also sent a fan letter to Clint Eastwood when I was in college (!) and got an autographed picture back from him. I thought I ran into William Katt (from the Greatest American Hero) at a concert once -- this cute guy stopped and talked to me for a while and my roommate convinced me that it was William Katt! -- so I wrote to him afterward and he wrote the *nicest* letter back saying that hadn't been him but he wished he'd seen the concert! LOL

I sent a letter to Haley Joel Osment back when I was a lot younger. I lied about all sorts of things, saying that I had been in TV shows around my hometown and stuff. My mom thought it was hilarious. He never replied and I was heartbroken.

I sent a letter to a few other actors/actresses and got generic thank you letters back, but the coolest one was an autograph from Will Farrell.

I sent a request to a new age artist to get info on him for a project and he responded back and got an autographed pictured too. But that was in high school and for an assignment and that was the only one I sent.

It's ironic you should ask. When I was in my early teens, Herman's Hermits came out and I was in love with 'Herman.' We had these things called 'Love Chains' that you make out of gum wrappers, and you make them as tall as the celebrity you love. Well, I made one and sent it to him! I didn't get anything back though. What great memories!
