These can be purchased by children. OuiJa boards are not toys, they are spiritual items to summon demons and are dangerous.

Mostly because it is a board game. The same reason they sell Monopoly, Scrabble, Chutes and Ladders, Risk and hundreds of other board games in game and toy stores. As for it being demonic .... I suppose you can find demons wherever your fears lead you. And if you and your friends sit down to a Ouija board ... just where do you think the demons come from ????? surely not out of the plastic and cardboard but through your little fingertips. You are your own demons!

Because people do not believe in it and without the evil spirits it would just be a toy. I had a pretty creepy experience with one once when I was a teenager. I had gone out of state to live with my dad and I was at a friends house and we decided to play around with it. It began to say things that she could not know about, for instance it pretended to be my very first boyfriend. It would tell us no if we asked it things about it. Then it started going crazy and cursing at us.

They don't only summon demons, there are less malicious spirits.
They're probably considered a toy because in general, society doesn't believe they work. If they don't work, then they're merely harmless toys for kids to fool around with a scary sleepover type events. If they don't work, they aren't going to be taken seriously, or sold seriously.
(Note - I never said they don't work. This is all conjecture.)

Because only people who have had a bad experience with one will believe that they are really a way to contact the spirit world. Most people who haven't accidently raised a ghost or a demon with them, assume that the lens moves because one of the people is moving it. I think your right the things are dangerous, I had bad problems with my dads old one. I ended up having to burn it.

because it is somehow one of the few "occult" items that hasnt been condemmed by other religions....but i am with you on this one, i have friends who get creeped out at even the mention of a quija board

They shouldn't sell them there. I keep on telling people on here that they can invite evil spirits with out meaning to do it.
