My daughter the most! .. and I would miss seeing the sunrise each day .. I watch it most days from the loading dock of the terminal I work at ... but on the days I'm not there I set on my sun porch and watch it rise to greet us with with new surprises...

I would miss everything life has to offer, especially not being able to watch my children grow.. Without sight your world is dark, the colours are gone forever only your memories will be in colour from then on.. I lost the sight in my right when I was 5 years old, so I protect my other eye as much as I can, just so I don't lose my sight completely..One of my biggest fears..

I would miss looking at the stars at night. I live in a rural place where I can see lots of stars in the sky. I always sit outside and wonder whats looking down at me. I would feel more isolated not being able to look to the sky and that feeling I get of how huge and unknown the universe is.

The smiles on people's faces. I enjoy making people happy.
It's one of the main reasons I'm going into a career as a vocal performer. I'd still be able to hear the happiness in their voices but I like seeing the smiles.

My beloved, 17 year old pet-cat Sonia!
The best companion, (including human) I've ever been graced to have!
I took her over from my brother's friends who could no longer keep her, when she was 5!
I had just lost the night before my little miniature gerbil, named Jamie, a friend's namesake.
And prior to Jamie, I had lost Malcolm X, a Brazilian millipede, which no one wanted at a pet shop, because he was so unfamiliar, therefore rejected as a creature needing shelter and love. He was all of 8 inches long, with wiry legs, which once going up and down my arm, felt like the softest caress.
But, I digress while involved in reminiscence!

Sonia had been left at my brothers by the people who could no longer keep her.
His own cat, Kucha, would not allow her to roam about sharing the space of his house. So she hid all of the time under his desk in his den.
I had cried all the night before, because I become very attached to my animals.
In the morning, almost as if offered a miracle, he called me and said : " Grace, would you be wanting a cat?"
I went right over, as fast as I could . . already, I was ecstatic to offer a refuge to another homeless creature.
When I got to my brother, he told me not to be too hopeful, she'd come with me . . because she had so far, refused to come out from hiding for 3 people, interested, ahead of me.
But that did not squelch my enthusiasm to offer myself to her . . so I laid on the ground and extended one arm, with my hand beckoning to her.
When I called : "Sonia, please, come to me." She did and circled around me, until she was comfortable to sit next to my side.
It was only then, that I made the motion to pick her up to bring her home.
She did NOT resist!
From that day on, she has been my dearest, (non pareil) most beloved companion I've been favoured to share my life with.
I read once, perhaps 10 years ago, or so, that it seemed a great tragedy, that out pets or rather, the creatures that are our best companions - who accept and love us, unconditionally, have much shorter lives than ours.
But that through their eventual loss, we come to understand more about love and devotion, even though the lesson DOES hit hard!
I have agreed with this, time and time again!!
