She wasn't on. It was mentioned that she moved to New York to be with Todd. She would not come back to end her storyline.

Jill Marie Jones (born January 4, 1975 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actress.
After attending Duncanville High School, and Texas Woman's University, she started modeling, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting full time.
Jones was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for two years, a Dallas Mavericks Dancer for one year, and toured with the United Service Organization (USO) and United States Department of Defense to Korea, Japan, Israel, and Egypt. She has also performed on "Monday Night Football" and "The Miss Texas Pageant."
Jones' portrayal of Toni Childs in Girlfriends marks her first regular role in a series; in May of 2006 it was confirmed that Jones has left Girlfriends, presumably over a contract dispute.[citation needed] Her other acting credits include the Saturday morning series City Guys as well as the made-for-television film American Dreams, which starred Danny Glover and Wesley Snipes.
She is also currently filming a new movie called A Perfect Christmas, which also stars Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard as well as Morris Chestnut, Rachel True, and Gabrielle Union.

She's not returning because of money. When the UPN was bought out, the new company was not giving the raises that were expected. Jill Marie Jones left the show after finding out she wouldnt make as much as she thought, and I think she is upset that Tracee Ross is making more. From what I heard, Jill didnt even tell the girls she was leaving, they heard it from someone else.

toni moved to New York to be with Todd because his job went full time. They mended the marriage with the baby.

i believe she reunited with todd back in NY. they only mentioned her in one episode after that. i think the show is surviving just fine without her though.
all she does now is liquor commercials and just smiles and stands behind that funny looking black/middle eastern guy while he fumbles with ice cubes.
