Is it because the true powers behind the throne dictate America's choices to the masses and the masses simply fall in line screaming "I'm a conservative" "I'm a liberal"? (seriously)

Your thoughts please.

Tucson (below) If it were totally my decision, Ross Peroe would have been the president if he stuck it out. He foresaw and foretold of the coming corporate calamities especially in the airline industry.

I did enjoy the Clinton era nineties.

Simple. Ballplayers are selected based on merit. Politicians are selected based on popularity.

Wrong on both accounts. As is always pointed out there is great talent in any given sport, Football, Baseball, or Basketball that never gets to play or never gets voted to all star teams or the Hall of fame. Heck even the Heisman trophy which is supposedly the best player in college football in America is so subjective as to how a team did in that year.

As for politics, If there were better leaders would not by that definition they be leaders of the respective parties? If there were unique men who could capture the dreams of the people and be swept into office. Thanks to the liberal media it is so much eaiser to destroy our national leaders than to praise worthy men.

Do you vote third party? Then you have no room to speak on the "best" leaders for the country, since you pick between socialists and socialists light.

Clinton in the nineties put more of your "brothers" in prison than any president prior with his expansion of the war on drugs. Plus, perot was a joke. I mean a real 3rd party candidate, not an oil tycoon with the ability to buy his was into politics.

Because there are many ball players to choose from for sports.

When it comes to politics, we are stuck with rich people telling us to pick between two people. If we were able to pick from the same amount of people just like an NFL or NBA draft, we might have someone who really wants to run this country, and not get someone who is really trying to make as much money as possible for them - Democrat or Republican -before they leave office...

Ummm because if everyone got to vote on who to pick as ball players maybe we wouldnt get such good ball players...??

or if once a ball player was drafted we kept him on the team even when he was senile and couldnt perform his job then we wouldnt have such good teams...

or ummm because the we take over trust of countries like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic where alot of them come from...

;P

When this last guy was first elected, the population was mostly complacent. Most of this country does not want to hear too much about world events.

Because the ball players are paid several times more than those who run the country. The more you pay them, the better you pick them.

Because ball players get money to play ball well; politicians play ball to get money.
