Are you using a breastfeeding pillow? If not, you have to get one. They are a back saver! Also, when you are sitting in a chair place a pillow length wise behind your back. Make sure your posture is good and try not to slump over as much.

congrats on getting approved. i had a long fight to get approved. i was a 32DDD/E. All through middle school and high school, I had the biggest chest of anyone and I've always been petite. my first 2 insurances denied me telling me i wasn't big enough. honestly, i couldn't imaging being bigger, i wouldn't be able to stand up. but finally with my most recent job and the insurance that came along with it, i was approved. i'm 27 now and am the happiest person. the sister of my nurse in the hospital had it done twice. once when she was 16 and again when she was 26. i would suggest you wait until you are at least 18. not because of your age, but because you might still be growing. secondly, i wouldn't suggest going down to a A. I'm a D (with swelling still) and should be a C when all is said and done. i am not proportional to my size and very happy. i don't think the doctor will make you flat chested anyway.

Try laying down when you nurse her, may sure that you have a pillow under your neck so that you can fully relax.
The reason why you are getting the pains is because you are not fully supported and relaxed while you are nursing her. Figuring out the best positions for nursing is just one of the many obsticles of breastfeeding.
When I nursed my son, I usually found myself sitting in our recliner, it fully supported my back, and he was able to lay on my stomach so he was supported too.
One of the best tools for breastfeeding is a simple standard pillow. I will take three standard pillows over one Boppy ANY day. The regular pillows are more flexible and offer better support. Also, they can be easily washed, covered and re-used.

Sounds like you need a better nursing pillow. It might be too low. Be aware of your posture too. I went from the boppy pillow to a pillow they had at babiesrus called the nuzzle nursing pillow. I didnt see it on the website, but you need a higher one that can hold her weight so shes not weighing it down. Being comfortable is important for your milk to come down easier. Maybe thats why shes taking so long to eat? There are many different pillows out there. Read reviews and good luck! keep breastfeeding!

Congrats on breastfeeding! It's hard work.
The thing that did the trick for me was making sure there were enough pillows (or my Boppy) underneath her so she was propped up TO me, rather than me having to lean down to her. I would also trying nursing laying down, with you and your baby facing each other. This will take the pressure off your neck and shoulders also. Hope that helps, good luck!

maybe you should try lying down beside your baby and letting them eat like that .that always feels better.try bringing the baby closer to your breast by using a boppy pillow or some kind of pillow to raise the height of the baby so that you won't be leaning so far down this will help.I know the feeling I breastfed all four of my babies.

Try the side-lying position. When I first started, it was the only way my daughter would latch on. It was the most comfortable for me, and is especially nice when you're tired. Lay a soft blanket on the floor and lay the baby with their mouth by your breast. Mine preferred not to be held, so she would just lay on her back and turn her head toward my breast, suckling sideways.

Have you tried using one of those Boppy pillows? I had the same problem until I got one, and I wouldn't go back to not using one, now!
