What do you use on your grey horses to get off the manuer stains and make my horse look sparking white? What brands of whitening shampoo do you like most?

Here's a link for a product that I've seen used on white show horses that makes them look unbelievably white. It's used as a final rinse after shampooing.

Good Luck!!

Quick Silver is awesome it gives a very silvery sheen to the coat and removes all stains. Quick Color will also remove the stains and brighten but it gives a snowy white tone instead of silvery. They also make Quick Screen to keep dark horses from bleaching in the sun, great for liver chestnuts and bays you don't want to redden over summer.
Other than that any shampoos that are purple or navy blue in color have whitening agents and should work.

Quick Silver ( mix with water in bucket first so you don't stain your horse purple). Wash tail weekly with it if you want the tail perfectly white. Also Cowboy Magic Shampoo in a bottle or green spot remover is good for touch ups when a full bath isn't convenient.

I agree with whoever said Quick Silver...It works wonders on the grey horse I ride..Just don't leave it on too long, or leave it on while your horse is in the sun..I've known people who have done that before and let's just say it wasn't too fun the next day when they had to show a slightly purple horse :)

There's a product called Cowboy Magic, I'm not sure if they have a shampoo but I have an Appaloosa and use it to get his white blanket clean. It comes in a spray bottle and it's awesome!

peroxcide works really good for the mane and tail. but for the coat i can't think of the name but it has the word blue in it and older men use it to make their hair white instead of a grey. i have a grey and i is so hard to keep him cleans but what i found was cleaning his stall 2 times a day, giving him plenty of shavings, and giving him a bath at least once a week helps keep him clean. also the oster curry brush and hard brush work good to

There is some stuff called 'blueing'. It is used for laundry.
It's been around for a long time and I think the name is something like...'Mrs._____ Blueing"
It worked great for me on my horses legs and star.
Have fun with your big friend!

We used to use blue-bag but I don't know whether it's still around. There are quite a few proprietory brands that are supposed to be quite good. Always use hot water, rather than cold - it helps.

If you would like to have an Equestrian category on here, then please go to the Forum and suggest it. Thanks.

i just go to the local beauty supply and purchase shimmer lights shampoo. works just as good as quiksilver to get your horse's coat bright white.
