I have a Japanese friend who wanted to dance salsa with me but he only has time tonight. I do not want to go to Cafe Havana. Is there any alternative club to go to, preferably in Makati?

Well, Cafe Havana is the only place to dance Salsa in Manila. Its not really a good place to dance salsa with a crowdy venue and small dance space. However, tonight, Wednesday, March 21. At 8 p.m. we have a party at The Captain's Bar at Mandarin Hotel in Makati (at the corner of Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas). Clave Band, the best Latin band here in Manila, will perform and sing salsa and cha cha cha songs. Clave's lead singer is also one of the best salsera. Together with her, I will be teaching some basic salsa steps. Come along with us tonight!

Also, I teach salsa regularly every saturday at Asian Social Institute at 1518 Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila. This coming saturday is the orientation for those who would like to join our workshops. Beginner's workshop orientations start this saturday and every saturday thereafter (except April 7) until the last saturday of April.

We also offer advance salsa lessons. For the month of April (lessons starts on March 31), we will teach several intermediate salsa variations that ultimately lead to advance salsa steps called Pasea y Complicate. All the steps that I teach can be danced in Rueda de Casino. If you need more informations, contact me at 09064585725. My name is Ares.

Hi! A friend of mine has just told me that there is a band playing every Wednesday early evening around 7 pm at the Mandarin Hotel in Makati. It is located at the corner of Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue. I know of a club inside Mandarin Hotel where band plays. Its Captain's Bar. Perhaps you can check it out.
