It takes one sperm. What happens is a bunch of sperm are sent out on a mission, so to speak, and only one can get in and fertilize the egg. the rest of the sperm are blocked out by a protective membrane as soon as the egg is reached. One sperm carries the DNA it takes for your baby, but it does take alot of sperm. they don't always make it. (in some cases the egg can be fertilized twice, and that is likely when a second egg is released with the first. those result in fraternal twins. But most of the time, one sperm is all it takes. Now you just have to hope the right one makes it there)

Um...ONE! If it is more than one then you have a multiple pregnancy. Unless of course that one sperm divides then that causes multiple babies as well.. But yeah just ONE.

Since you are asking such a fundamental question, we all suggest you have that one sperm and all his buddies contained in a condom or to stay within the "boys" from which he cometh and don't release him. . . young lady!
